Taiwan’s Foxconn to invest billions in U.S.

Taiwanese manufacturing giant Foxconn – part of the Hon Hai group -announced on Wednesday at the White House plans to invest $10 billion to build a world class LCD panel plant in the US state of Wisconsin. The investment will create at least 3,000 jobs initially and has the potential to generate up to 13,000 jobs in the near future. That’s just the beginning of a series of investments the company will make in the U.S. manufacturing sector in the next few years, says Hon Hai’s Chairman Terry Gou. Never before has a Taiwanese businessman been feted in such a high-profile way in the United States – including by President Trump at the White House. Take a look at what Mr. Gou and Trump said about this landmark deal – which Trump hopes will be part of a movement to Make America Great Again. (sourced from "Focus Taiwan)
